Morphious™ CMS Real-Time Measurement for Polymer Pellets & Granules

Morphious™ CMS is a fully automatic, real-time color measurement system specially designed
for polymer pellets and granulates. Manufactured by Microptik B.V. and supplied by
Kreator Lab BG as an official representative, it provides precise, highly stable color data based on
CIE1931 and interference filter XYZ technology, both in the laboratory and directly on the production line.

Description

Overview

Morphious™ CMS is a top-of-the-line system designed for precise, real-time
color measurement of polymer pellets and granulates. The system is fully automatic,
compact and robust, and is equally suitable for color measurement in the laboratory and
on the factory floor. On the production line it can be applied via a dedicated bypass system
for continuous inspection of materials.

The device is extremely easy to understand and operate, yet it delivers top-quality real-time data
about the color of your samples. It has been designed for applications where color reproduction is
critical
, long-term stability is required and there is little or no possibility of performing frequent
calibrations.

Colors are measured by reflectance while the pellet stream falls down through a tube with an
optical window. This geometry allows continuous, non-contact monitoring of color directly on the product stream.

Measurement principle & technology

Colors are measured according to the human eye response (CIE1931). The Morphious™ CMS utilizes
an XYZ interference filter-based technology, which guarantees long-term stability and excellent
consistency between different devices. The LED light source is stabilized using an optical
feedback loop, ensuring stable illumination conditions over time.

The system can measure up to 10,000 color points per second, providing a very high sampling rate
for monitoring critical-to-quality color parameters of polymer pellets and granulates in real time.

The Morphious™ CMS software provides several ways to visualize and work with the color data:

    of the measured point in the selected color space.
  • Database representation: specific color parameters can be stored in a database and copied
    to external files for further analysis or reporting.
  • Real-time flow charts: critical-to-quality color parameters are displayed as real-time
    flow charts and can be used directly for process control.
  • Customizable interface: the user interface can be customized according to the client’s needs
    and preferred workflows.
